Poetry By Namrata & Amber {1} ~ Mental Lockdown

Encased in seclusion, tatters of the mind, threads unpick themselves
unwarranted and confined.
Chaos and conflicts embed and unwind,
battling the uncertainty, with passing time
Upside down reality, shifting situations,
abnormalities
Exposing vulnerabilities
It’s a mad design
Set me free, let me wander
And resign to my safe space, cramping, the sky is deteriorating, surviving in squander
Black and grey, in blue I meander
Disappearing behind the ivory
Sucked into the subconscious ever blaring library, for me to be unconscious, lost in thought, my ego twists thought bribery.
I look around, it’s all abyss, I fight, I succumb,
It’s never ending,
That can’t be it, I whisper to myself,
I sing the hymns, I pray night and day
I flip the calenders but it’s only May
Monotonous grinding, a tape recorder on repeat, rewinding, thought loops whipping,
Shards of the ego chipping,
Latching onto the cliff edge by a fingernail, gasping mind decomposing, stale
Chained in dark, hounded by wailing.

The Human Family Crash Course Series {5} ~ Communication {5} ~ How To Say No Politely

Welcome fellow souls to « The Human Family Crash Course Series, » a new project collaborated together by empress2inspire.blog and diosraw0.wordpress.com. Together we will be working on a different topic for each crash course; our fifth topic is focused on «Communication.» Each topic will have eight posts with posts on Mondays and Thursdays. We hope you enjoy our series and we look forward to knowing how our posts have inspired you!

~“Saying NO is an art, master it.” ~
Vikrmn: CA Vikram Verma
~”Love yourself enough to set boundaries. Your time and energy are precious. You get to choose how you use it. You teach people how to treat you by deciding what you will and won’t accept.” ~
Anna Taylor

Why do we find it hard to say “no”? Because we want people to like us and would like to appear kind. ‘No’ is counterintuitive to this notion, when we say ‘no’ we fear the repercussions. Humans crave social and emotional stimuli; attention, recognition and intimacy are critical for our emotional and physical survival. “No” can be perceived as a rejection, the very thing that humans are programmed to avoid. The fear of missing out is another reason why people struggle with ‘no’, as social beings, we unconsciously base our beliefs on the current values of society. The Chimp Paradox explains: “The need to belong to a group is so powerful that we will often compromise our lives and lifestyle to remain as part of the group.”

Here are some ways for you to say no politely ~

  1. Vague and effective ~ “Thank you for asking, but that isn’t going to work out for me.”
  2. It’s not personal ~ “Thank you for asking, but I’m not doing any interviews while I’m writing my book at the moment.”
  3. Ask me later ~ “I would like to do that, but I’m not available until July. Will you ask me again then please?”
  4. Let me hook you up ~ “I can’t do it, but I’ll bet Jasmine can. I’ll ask her for you.”
  5. Keep persisting ~ “None of those dates work for me, but I would love to see you. Send me some more dates.”
  6. Try me last minute ~ “I can’t put anything else on my calendar this month, but I’d love to do that with you sometime. Will you call me right before you go again?”
  7. Gratitude ~ “Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and support! I’m sorry I’m not able to help you at this time.”
  8. Give the dad a chance ~ “Let’s ask Dad if he wants to help this year.”
  9. 5-minute favour ~ “I can’t speak at your event, but I will help you promote it on my blog.”
  10. Just No ~ “Thanks, I’ll have to pass on that.”
  11. Gracious ~ “I really appreciate you asking me, but my time is already committed.”
  12. I’m Sorry ~ “I wish I could, but it’s just not going to work right now.”
  13. My family is the reason ~ “Thanks so much for the invite, that’s the day of my son’s soccer game, and I never miss those.”
  14. I know someone else ~ “I don’t have time right now, but let me recommend someone who may be able to help you.”
  15. I’m already booked ~ “I appreciate you thinking of me, but I’m afraid I’m already booked that day.”
  16. Setting boundaries ~ “Let me tell you what I can do..” Then limit the commitment to what will be comfortable for you.
  17. Not no, but not yes ~ “Let me think about it, and I’ll get back to you.”
  18. I’m “maxed out” ~ We need a ‘safety word’ for saying no, an easy way to tell people that we can’t/won’t do the thing they are requesting, but that it’s not personal. You are asking them to respect that you’re taking care of yourself and that you also respect their need to take care of themselves.

Research suggests that when we precipitate a decision that allows us to change our minds later, we tend to be a lot less happy with the decisions that we make. Once we decline an invitation or say “no”, we need to make an effort to focus on the good that will come from saying no, not the regret or guilt we may feel. Perhaps we will be better rested because we didn’t go to a party, or we’ll feel less resentful because we let someone else help our friend out. Maybe saying no to something frees up time for another (more fulfilling) activity. Whatever the case may be, focus on the positive outcome of your effort to give a good “no”. Because saying no is really about allowing ourselves to really enjoy what we are doing in the moment, whatever that might be.

Feel free to let us know below how you set your boundaries and have learnt how to lovingly say no..

Poetry By Jeff & Amber {4} ~ The Fabric Of Accessorised Attachment

When I look inside,
sometimes is found a diatribe,
of ideas, which are
moving and shaping
experience
without the knowledge
of the receiver.

Egoic mind in motion,
suffering extending roots
from craving to attachment.
Blinding light of awareness,
are you afraid of the
parallax light would perform?

Following these ideas
from here to there
is often pale,
until that is,
we get beyond
the veil.

We often accessorize
to people and ideas
too comfortably
with the gates to our heart
unlocked
with hope,
the void of emptiness
remains when the
filled absence
has dissolved.

We must then
make headway,
and, stay resolved,
by being open
to all that’s at our door,
while we learn more
about humanities very core.

Experience
is a wise teacher, and
can shed light
on the ideas
we struggle with,
while we bundle close
together,
and pray for
our very souls.

Welcome others to be who
they truly are,
by mirroring and refracting
off Self.
Don’t force situations,
solutions once submerged emerge,
uncertainty is reality,
delve into it.

Detachment does not
mean that you should own nothing,
but that nothing should own you.
Soaring above the
high planes,
be enrolled experience
yet not of it.

Experience as the guide,
Please abide, and
delight yourself in the fabric
Of reality within view,
While ensconcing
yourself in the mystery
Of all that is hidden within you.

Poetry By Kritika & Amber {2} ~ Time’s Cadence

Since our time of birth, have you fathomed the depth of infinity within the microcosm of us?

Time’s cadence, a playful teacher, dressed in hues of mystery

Amorphous narratives weaving stories through the tapestry of universal consciousness, thus superfluous

Unwrapping the gift of present wafting through the invisible layer of time

Dripping in translation distortion through varying dimensional thought pattern awarenesses

We are lost or are we? Delicacy of its intricate design witnessing only the sincerity of day and night.

Cementing time’s meaning, alive through our beliefs and concepts, yet swimming amongst the timeless existence of the nebulous ultimate

The value of which increases with the passing of moments bringing us closer to the end.

Cycling back, diving into the stream of transcendental love, accompanying us on our way home through multidimensional places where time has no residence outside human
conception.

Only the Now exists, thus superfluous.

Tidal waves cleanse an adjacent time conundrum, the deluge is approaching, adrift, soaking, submerging in the world of imagination..

Poetry By Karin & Amber {1} ~ Patterns In Cosmos

As architect and tenant of our imminent destruction and rebirth, we interlock into the chain of motions
Knowing our calling to this life this time as the phoenix is rising
Spiralling into imminent deaths and cyclical awakenings
Nothing is permanent; we live in a world of change taking each moment as Grace
Neurons firing into dreams, believing sense of the senseless sense patterns
We are beings full of ancestral beliefs and conditioning living in a new existence
Awakening to the collective trauma, ancestral lines running deep within the buried subconscious cycles we unconsciously spin
Asking us to pause and consciously decide what to release to travel lightly into a new future
To dream a new dimension of reality looping in dimensional levels.

Poetry By Mehwish & Amber {1} ~ Re-Emerging Goddess

The divine feminine goddess cradles light; packed in a body that itself creates life,
feeds it sacrifice, and nurtures it with love and care,
then fights and forgives the evil, a trivial, goes on with the journey of life
unravelling the travel in a mysterious way.
She dissolves herself into oneness,
she kindles a fire within to provide the warmth, burning slowly with no flame (smoulder)
deep within the womb of Mother Earth.
Devoted to herself and her fragrant self-awareness felt in her auric glow,
the light taken away now left with darkness she lives.
The repression of the feminine has led to a planet on the verge of collapse,
re-emerging, a dance to behold.
Help her pull wisdom from her past pains to soothe and help those in pieces become whole
fearlessness recognized,
sealing and unsealing the gates to her heart;
protecting herself yet expressing her vulnerability.
Evergiving, her fruits of source
here is she,
with her left ashes.. rises again as a phoenix.

Poetry By Cherie & Amber {1} ~ Silent Screams

Nobody hears the deafening screams but me,
incessantly blurring the thinking inside my mind.
Nobody knows my pain, they only guess and that’s satisfied enough for them,
whilst assumptions and judgements smear the cracked glass of reality.
Their screams can be heard loud and clear,
searching for their prey, drooling from their lips.
But mine, only hidden and obscured,
suppressed and confined to protect the camoflague of my sanity.
I can’t let them see me wounded,
for they will pounce on the opportunity to get their ego fix of daily pain energy to feed themselves.
Can’t let them see me sweat,
for they will smell their meat from distances.
I must remain strong even if I must fake it,
smiling behind a facade of torn misery.
Can’t allow them to see my vulnerability,
lest they strike the final blow that kills me forever.
Sometimes there is no coming back from the horror of the ever running cycles of hunter and prey.

Poetry By Aparna & Amber {1} ~ Magician Dreaming

Magic and mystery dwells in the unseen for the eyes who see,
Magic of nature is all around,
Distractions abound, our focus wavers, did we foresee?
If you encounter, don’t let them bound!
Just remember it’s part of you, it’s part of the all
Be the magician,
Decipher the hidden in plain sight call,
And get through your ambition.
All beings unknowingly are wizards and witches
But you should find magic in you,
Unravel the cobwebbed stitches
Just remember it’s part of you,
The more you resist it, the more it persists
Don’t let your faith shaken
Or get lost casting spells in the present past of reminisced
Face unknown and always prepare to awaken.
Chant into being the existence you dream
Listen to the rhythm of your heart,
Conjoining as universal knowledge works as a team
It will produce a beautiful art.

Poetry By Grace & Amber {1} ~ Nourished Thirst

Mystical raindrops that fall on my head
ignite my mind, feeding thoughts that were dead
grasping as my soul breaks free from the mold
sheds light on a knowledge that exceeds my control

Saturated knowledge addiction when initially seeking spirituality
leads to a dead void neutrality
real soul nutrition comes from the formless
putting theory into practice within our fortress

Open my mind to energies received
my deciphering heart will not be deceived
quenches my thirst from all fears and worries
basking in light bathing in newfound glories

Cutting open the hidden subconscious
void of emptiness shadowing us
filling the abyss with gems buried in the fears confronted
Feeding the angelic auric orbs swirling within healthy beliefs hunted

Let your soul maintain planted and protected,
composed before a multitude of universes interconnected
May our souls be nourished with each sunlight
keeping us connected as our eyes close each night.

Poetry By Jeff & Amber {3} ~ Remembering The Mirrored Child Within

Free and Clear

Godly pure clay they came,

shaped then crafted

by environmental ruptures,

connected to Spirit,

adjacent to our home world,

this molded fabric weaves,

through the veil of amnesia.

Cloaked

in a brocade of vibrant colors

and images

of another place and paradigm,

as we left that ruptured
line

and connection for a time.

Mirroring parental behaviour,

in the earthly realm,

observative as they are,

education brings the moment
we see

children as innately wise
and capable beings;

only then can we play along
in their world.

Fitting into God’s plan,

to be of service to the divine.

Our invitation?

Shine a light

on all that you find within,

which came prior

to the social necessities
laid bare

before you. Reconnection
with Truth

is one of the greatest gifts

we can deliver to ourselves,
and

all the rest of the fauna

and flora we find

everywhere.

Breaking the chains of illusion

necessitate the

familiarisation with the
Atma,

residing within the chambers

of the heart.

Seeded offspring from the

universal intelligence,

when you utter, leave an
impression

on the young,

allowing them to embody

and fully love

who they have become.

To see the magical in the
all

and be the teachers of the
old by

remembering what you already
know,

which lives within, and is
free and clear.
